Bears fizzle on offense with Fields out, Siemian in vs. Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Justin Fields was ruled out for the game against the New York Jets with an injured left shoulder and Trevor Siemian started in his place. Siemian injured an oblique during warmups before Chicago’s 31-10 loss and the Bears announced third-stringer Nathan Peterman would start instead. Both Siemian and Peterman threw on the sideline shortly before the game and the Bears again switched back to Siemian. He led the Bears to 10 points on their first two drives but Siemian and the offense couldn’t manage much more. Siemian said he was embarrassed by the injury. The Bears are hoping Fields could return next week.
