Roseburg car dealer’s offer: ‘Buy a car, get a gun’
ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A Roseburg dealership has a unique incentive for customers: “Buy a car, get a gun.”
The News-Review reports the sign went up last week – the same day 200 people gathered at the county courthouse for a rally in support of the Second Amendment.
Jeremy Magar, the owner of Earnest Auto Sales, came up with the idea for the sale three years ago but only decided to implement it after hearing about the rally.
Anyone who purchases a car will be given a certificate that can be exchanged for a pre-selected firearm from a local gun shop. The value of each firearm averages around $300.
If the customer is prohibited from receiving a firearm, then the certificate will be forfeited.
Magar says he launched the promotion to raise awareness about gun rights, and it’s not just a sales gimmick.
