Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 8.13.18

Good Monday Morning, Everyone…
Despite clear, sunny skies just about all of the Pacific NW including Central Oregon, will have to tolerate a smoky haze for the next couple of days. Today’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s. Northerly breezes will be pretty gentle at 5-10 mph. Skies will stay clear tonight, but for many that smoky haze will stay put. Lows will range from the mid 40’s to mid 50’s and breezes will become light and variable after midnight.
The hot temps return tomorrow and they are likely to stay with us for the rest of the week and into the weekend. A cold front making a slow advance from the NW will arrive Tuesday night and into Wednesday. It is not very strong, but there will be enough moisture imbedded within the front to deliver a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day Wednesday and extend into Thursday. We will stay warm and sunny going into the weekend. The amount of smoke we see in the air will be governed by the number of fires still burning around the region.
