Motorcyclist critically injured in Hwy. 126 crash

(Update: Rider still in critical condition)
A motorcyclist was critically injured late Thursday morning when he lost control while trying to pass a truck on Highway 126 west of Redmond and was struck by an oncoming car, Oregon State Police said.
The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the area of milepost 108, three miles west of Redmond. Motorists were urged to use an alternate route until the highway reopened shortly after noon.
Oregon State Police Senior Trooper William Duran said the motorcyclist, Bailey Beaulaurier, 20, was heading east and lost control as he attempted to pass a truck.
He then was struck by a car heading heading west.
An air ambulance was called to the crash scene as medics treated the single male rider, but he was transported by ambulance instead by Redmond Fire & Rescue ambulance. A St. Charles Bend spokeswoman said he remained in critical condition Friday.
