Bend Chamber names 2019 board chair, 3 new members

The Bend Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that Vic Martinez of PayneWest Insurance will be the 2019 Board of Directors Chair.

Vic has served on the Executive Board for the past two years in the capacities of treasurer and, most recently, chairman elect. The Chamber thanks current Chair Heather Hansen of Bryant Lovlien & Jarvis PC for her service and dedication to the organization. Heather will take over the post of Past Chair and Scott Wallace of The Wallace Group will become Chair Elect on the Executive Board for 2019.

In addition to the changes to the Executive Board, Teri Hockett of Technology Association of Oregon, Jim Sansburn of Hayden Homes, and Jay Lyons of Compass Commercial Real Estate will join the Board of Directors.

Teri Hockett is Vice President at Technology Association of Oregon. The majority of Teri’s experience has been in the tech sector, first as a contract recruiter for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory ( LLNL ) with a primary focus on technicians through physicists, then directly for LLNL in the Mechanical Engineer Department office. More recently, she was in the software development field. Teri has served as the 2018 one-year appointee on the Bend Chamber Board of Directors.

Jim Sansburn is Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Hayden Homes and has 25+ years of real estate finance, accounting, administration and leadership with “Big 4” CPA firm experience. He is a confident, proven professional, motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the success of an organization as a key player in the top leadership team. Jim is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Jay Lyons is Partner, Vice President of Sales, and Principal Broker at Compass Commercial Real Estate. Jay joined Compass Commercial in March of 2011 after five years in the commercial mortgage banking industry with NorthMarq Capital and Capmark Finance. Jay previously served as board treasurer for Volunteer Connect, an organization that connects volunteers with meaningful opportunities to support and positively impact the Central Oregon community. He is a current member of the Mt. Bachelor Rotary Club where he serves on the board and as the club’s Youth Exchange Officer.

We say good bye and thank you to Brian Fratzke (Fratzke Real Estate), Rob Moore (Arbor Mortgage) and Ellyn Craven (HydroFlask) for their time investment in the Bend Chamber Board of Directors. Brian and Rob, in particular, have both served on the Chamber Board in a number of roles including Board Chair. Their leadership and insights have been a driving force of the continual evolution of the Chamber over the last few years. It’s these forward thinking and activ e members of the community which keeps Bend moving in the right direction. Thank you Brian, Rob and Ellyn for your commitment to the Chamber and our vibrant business community.
