Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM

Happy Monday evening, everyone!

Tonight we’re looking at mostly clear skies with cold temperatures. We’ll also see some areas of patchy freezing fog again as high pressure sits overhead creating an inversion. Areas in low lying elevations or near canyons will be cold to start the day and will have a tough time warming up.

Fog could start developing around midnight. When you see the fog know it could be icy on the roads and surfaces. Overhead this evening we’ll see mostly clear skies apart from the areas of fog. Temperatures will be in the teens for overnight lows, which is below average for this time of year.

Tuesday begins with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies apart from areas of fog. Higher elevations will begin with sunshine and cold temperatures. You’ll still see some spots of ice across Central Oregon on the roads, so drive safely and slowly!

Throughout the day fog should gradually break up and we’ll see mostly sunny skies. Winds will be breezy at times gusting 15 miles per hour out of the southeast.

The trend of areas of fog, below average temperatures, and mostly clear skies extend through the end of the week. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s for Friday and we’ll see more sun than fog.

By the weekend our next system will arrive bringing us more mild temperatures and more clouds. We have the chance for mixed showers developing by Sunday with a slight chance for snow showers lingering through Monday.
