Resort guests, staff donate food to Giving Plate

KTVZ

As part of its fourth annual community food drive, a week-long event, guests and staff of the WorldMark Bend Seventh Mountain Resort donated over 2,600 pounds of non-perishable food to The Giving Plate Food Bank.

“In the Seventh Mountain community, community service has become a cornerstone of our culture,” said Andrew Soriano, the resort’s general manager. “We have a unique opportunity to influence our guests, owners and local residents to help out, not only during the holidays, but through our numerous community service efforts all year.”

Last year, the resort raised over 1,600 pounds of food. The group has been collecting non-perishable foods for the community since 2014.

As part of a promotion for its ice skating rink, Seventh Mountain Resort ran a deal in which a donation of five nonperishable food items earned a free skate club membership.

Seventh Mountain Resort’s skating rink is open to the public from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 1 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
