Kor Land Trust closes on first Bend property

KTVZ

Kôr Community Land Trust, a Bend-based grassroots nonprofit, closed Tuesday on their first piece of land, located at 21221 Hurita Place in Bend. Kôr uses the community land trust model of individually owned homes on trust-owned land to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for qualified Central Oregonians.

The first land in trust will be developed as a joint venture with Housing Works of Central Oregon. The joint venture partnership will use the city of Bend’s Cottage Code to provide homes for five local families in need.

The land was purchased with Community Development Block Grant funds along with a donation of value from the property sellers, Elias Kassouf and Brad Phillips.

The project has also received support from Oregon Housing and Community Services, the City of Bend’s Affordable Housing Fee funds, the Oregon Community Foundation, Central Oregon Association of Realtors, The Clabough Foundation, Brooks Resources, and many in-kind donors.

Help provide homes for five families! If you would like more information about supporting the group’s mission please visit korlandtrust.org or email info@korlandtrust.org . Kôr Community Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible and may qualify for a tax benefit.
