A raid on a southeast Prineville home suspected of being the scene of frequent drug sales led to the arrest of seven Prineville residents and the seizure of two guns from a convicted felon, officials said Thursday.

After a short investigation, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, assisted by Prineville police and Crook County sheriff’s deputies, served a search warrant around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 800 block of Southeast Sixth Street, Lt. Brian Kindel of the CODE Team said.

During the raid, detectives seized two guns from suspect Rudy Parras, 59, a convicted felon, Kindel said. One of the guns, a TEC-9 semi-automatic pistol, had the serial number obliterated, he added.

Drugs and other evidence seized at the home supported the investigation’s findings that drugs were being sold frequently from the location, the lieutenant said.

During the raid, Rhonda Parras, 31, allegedly swallowed heroin just before officers contacted her, Kindel said. She was taken to St. Charles Prineville, where she later fled but was apprehended a short time later by Crook County deputies. She was taken back to the hospital for more observation before being taken to jail.

Rudy and Rhonda Parras and suspect Devon Miles, 33, live at the home, Kindel said, while the other four suspects — Ashley Lunda, 29; Aleah Carter, 21; Austen Minor, 21; and Shannon Smith, 50 — were guests of the residents at the time.

The state Department of Human Services assisted in the investigation to ensure the welfare of children living at the home, Kindel said.

Two of the suspects, Rhonda Parras and Miles, remained in jail late Thursday, held without bail on probation violation.

Rhonda Parras also faces charges of second-degree child neglect, heroin and methamphetamine possession and was being held without bail on a probation violation, jail records showed. Kindel said she also faced charges of heroin manufacturing and delivery and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Carter was jailed on a probation violation warrant, while Rudy Parras is charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, altering the identification of a firearm and meth possession, Kindel said. Luna and Minor were charged with heroin possession, while Smith was charged with frequenting a place where drugs are used or sold.
