The U.S. Tennis Association says it hopes that Novak Djokovic will be able to enter this year’s U.S. Open after missing it last year because he couldn’t travel to the United States. Djokovic is a foreign citizen who is not vaccinated against COVID-19. Government rules still prevent him from entering the country. That is why he had to withdraw from Indian Wells in California and the Miami Open next week. Djokovic is No. 1 in the ATP rankings and is tied with Rafael Nadal at 22 Grand Slam titles, the record for most won by a man.
