Local Alert Weather – Saturday
Happy Saturday, everyone!
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook counties. We’ll see snow on the ground to begin the weekend with more snow expected throughout the day Saturday. Motorists should be advised to take their time while driving and allow plenty of space between vehicles. Prepare for winter driving conditions across Central Oregon and the mountain passes.
Saturday begins with snow on the ground and snow showers. Throughout the day we’ll see shower activity calm as we get a break from the snow. Highs will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s, which is about 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. Winds will be breezy at times gusting 25 miles per hour out of the northwest. We could see low visibility at times.
A bitter cold night in store as we head into Sunday. Low temperatures will bottom out in the single digits with partly cloudy skies.
Sunday’s highs will be about 20 degrees below average. We’ll top out in the low to mid 20s. Most of Sunday will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy overhead. The chance for snow showers picks up again heading into Monday.
