KTVZ

Good Monday Morning, Everyone…
CULVER SCHOOLS: Buses on Snow Routes
JEFFERSON 509-J SCHOOLS: CLOSED FOR THE DAY
With daytime highs rising into the mid 30’s we are setting up to see a combination of snow showers and freezing rain today. Gusty southerly winds at 10-20 mph. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 20’s and those southerly winds will ramp up to 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. While this will be a big event for the mountains won’t be more than an inch or two over the next 24 hours.
Our temperatures for the next several days will remain fairly consistent. Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 30’s and overnight lows will range from the upper teens to mid 20’s. Our heaviest snowfall will occur Tuesday and Wednesday. From now through Wednesday night estimates for new snow in the cascades exceed two feet. While our accumulations should not be more than an inch or two over the next 24 hours, we could see a total accumulation of 4-8″ by Wednesday night. Hazardous driving conditions in the mountains are expected to develop quickly beginning today and stay with us all week. Prepare now for challenging local driving conditions, as well. A chance of snow showers will stay with us for the remainder of the week and through the coming weekend.
