Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for the areas of La Pine, Sunriver, and Sisters. Locations in higher elevations and closer to the Cascades will see about 1-4″ of snow on the ground by tomorrow morning making roads slick. During this time prepare for winter driving conditions.

Overnight we’ll see a few breezes gusting 15 miles per hour out of the west. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s. Snow showers are expected around midnight and we’ll have the chance to see snow throughout our Wednesday. Snow levels will be around 1,500′ Wednesday morning. Most of Central Oregon will see a dusting if not some measurable snow. Mt. Bachelor and the ski areas will have a powder day on Wednesday. Bundle up and get the big skis ready!

The High Desert will see a chance for snow showers throughout the day, but most of the snow will have fallen overnight. Highs for Wednesday just reach the low to mid 30s, which is about 10 degrees below average. Winds will gust around 15 miles per hour at times.

Expect roads to be slick and/or icy overnight into Thursday as snow showers wrap up. Thursday looks to be our coldest day of the week with highs in the low to mid 30s as well. Overnight into Friday temperatures will be in the teens. Thursday and Friday will be dry before the next round of snow moves in for the weekend.

By Saturday our next system arrives with a chance for snow showers off and on lasting through Monday. Highs for the weekend will not make it out of the 30s.
