KTVZ

(Update: Tuesday Sisters senior lunch also canceled)

Due to snow accumulation in Bend, Meals on Wheels will not be delivered to Bend clients on Monday. Feb. 25 or Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Clients are advised to use the shelf-stable emergency meals provided in late 2018. These meals are contained in a brown box and were delivered to all Meals on Wheels clients during the winter season in case of inclement weather. The Council on Aging offices are also closed on Feb. 25 and may be closed Feb. 26, depending on weather.

The senior lunch at the Sisters Community Church also has been canceled on Tuesday. Other senior meal sites and Meals on Wheels delivery areas may be impacted.

Bend Meals on Wheels clients are being notified about the interruption to meal delivery. Delivery may be resumed on Wednesday, Feb. 27, depending on weather conditions.

The shelf-stable emergency food boxes contain five meals. Other Meals on Wheels areas in the tri-county may also be affected and are being assessed on a case-by-case basis.
