Pleasant first day of fall for Central Oregon

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Hello, fall! The season officially begins at 5:05pm today as the sun’s direct rays cross the equator, bringing nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness.

Expect a mild and dry day with more seasonable highs in the low to mid 70s. Skies will range from partly cloudy to mostly sunny.

Temperatures will fall into the 30s and 40s overnight.

Wednesday looks quiet with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s. 

Dry conditions continue into Thursday, but temperatures will warm back to the low 80s. Winds are expected to increase so it could be breezy outside. 

A cold front will move through late in the workweek, bringing rain chances and cooler air. By Friday, highs will fall significantly into the low 60s.

Showers could arrive as early as Thursday night and could continue into early Friday afternoon.

The cooler pattern sticks around over the weekend with highs in the low to mid 60s. High pressure will keep things quiet across the High Desert.
