(Update: Adding city of Redmond snow removal work downtown)

After clearing both lanes of U.S. Highway 20 in Bend (on Third Street and Greenwood Avenue) in overnight work over the weekend, ODOT’s snow removal project will move to Redmond on Tuesday night, the agency said Monday.

Maintenance crews will be taking to Highland and Glacier avenues in Redmond overnight on Tuesday, and ODOT is asking motorists to avoid parking on those streets until the snow removal project is completed.

Also, the c ity of Redmond Transportation Division will conduct snow removal operations on SW 6th Street from SW Black Butte Boulevard to SW Forest Avenue on Tuesday.

SW 6th Street will be closed to all automotive traffic beginning 4:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. This closure allows crews to safely operate heavy equipment to clear snow from the street and parking areas.

” Keeping our city’s streets clean and safe during the winter is a big job,” the announcement stated. “It can’t happen without the cooperation of residents and businesses. The city requests your assistance during this closure and asks people to avoid parking cars on the street in the closure areas. Parked cars significantly impede our snow removal efforts.”

“During snow removal operations, the sidewalks will be open to pedestrians. Marked detour routes will be in place during closure.

“Thank you in advance for your patience and assistance keeping our downtown safe and accessible this winter. Please email streets@ci.redmond.or.us with questions or inquiries.”
