Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
Expect low clouds, snow flurries, and cold air to continue tonight. Accumulations from the snow flurries will be minimal. Calm winds are ahead this evening as we remain under some areas of fog. Overnight low temperatures will be in the single digits and teens early tomorrow morning.
Tuesday brings changes for us in Central Oregon as the next system moves up from the southwest. We’ll see some of the low clouds break up in the Bend area in the morning ahead of higher clouds and snow showers. La Pine and Sunriver should start the day with some blue sky action before clouds roll in for the afternoon. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 20s and lower 30s, which is about 20 degrees below normal.
Snow showers push into Central Oregon around dinner between 5 p.m. & 7 p.m. Overnight into Wednesday snow levels will go from 700′ all the way up to 2,800′. We’ll see about 1-4″ of snow on the ground in Central Oregon by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday could see some mixed showers as snow levels hover around 3,100′ in the afternoon, then fall with the arrival of a cold front Wednesday night. Roads will be treacherous and icy, so please slow down, allow extra time & space, and turn your headlights ON during the day. Temperatures will peak in the low to mid 30s.
Past Thursday morning Central Oregon will dry out. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s through the end of this week and weekend.
