The 2019 OnPoint Community Credit Union Oregon WinterFest was a big success, with over 37,000 locals and visitors attending the event. Once again, a portion of ticket proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon.

This year, Oregon WinterFest raised the largest amount ever for the charity, bringing in $13,270 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon. Since 2008, the festival has generated more than $120,000 for local charities in support of the vital services they provide to the communities we serve.

“The funds from this generous donation will allow Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon to continue to ignite, defend, and empower potential in the children and youth in our community,” says Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon Events Coordinator Kirsten Morrell. “Because of this donation, we will be able to interview more potential new mentors, create more new matches, and truly see how this program changes the lives of the youth in our programs for the better, forever.”

The 2019 Oregon WinterFest, the largest winter festival on the West Coast, featured live entertainment and a large collection of art exhibitions, including fire pits and fire sculptures, light art, ice carving and fine art. Attendees also enjoyed the Gourmet Food & Lifestyle Pavilion and Arts & Crafts Marketplace, as well as fun exhibits by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in the Family Play Zone.

Lay It Out Events is excited to again have partnered with the City of Redmond and RCAAP for the second public art placement, generated by the Oregon WinterFest Fire Competition. With the advent of Art Around the Clock, Redmond’s outdoor public art gallery, this public placement is part of an ever-growing cultural legacy.

Lay It Out Events is honored and grateful to also be the recipient of a Bend Cultural Tourism Grant, which has funded expanded outreach and marketing for the Fire Pit and Sculpture Competition. The 2018 competition had increased submissions from throughout Oregon and Washington as a result of the outreach this funding allows.

Special thanks to OnPoint Community Credit Union for returning as the title sponsor of the event, ensuring that Oregon WinterFest was once again Oregon’s premier winter celebration!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon is a 21 Cares for Kids partner.
