Public can meet principal candidates for Bend’s new HS

Community members are invited to meet four finalists for the principal position for the new high school slated to open in southeast Bend. The forum will take place Monday at 4 p.m. at the Education Center, 520 NW Wall St, Bend. Attendees will get a chance to see presentation from the candidates and interact with them.

Finalist details:

Chris Boyd is currently principal at Pacific Crest Middle School in Bend, a position he has served in for five years. Prior to that, he served as Associate Director of Secondary Programs for North Clackamas School District, principal at Happy Valley Middle School and assistant principal and dean of students at Clackamas High School. Boyd also has 9 years of teaching experience.

Andrew Croley is currently principal at McCluer North High School in Missouri, a position he has served in for the past four years. Prior to that, he served as a principal at Lindbergh High School in Missouri, principal at St. Helens High School in Oregon and assistant principal at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. Croley also has nine years of teaching experience.

Jay Etnier is currently assistant principal at Summit High School in Bend, a position he has served in for six years. Prior to that, Etnier was a metal shop teacher at Sam Barlow High School in Gresham for 10 years. He has a total of 13 years of teaching experience.

Lonnie Robertson is currently an assistant principal at Billings Senior High School in Montana, a position he has served in for three years. Prior to that, he served as a woodworking, drafting and weight training teacher for 19 years at Billings Senior High School. He has a total of 24 years of teaching experience.
