Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

Overnight we’ll see our chances for snow showers pick up across Central Oregon. We’ll also see mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the teens and lower 20s by tomorrow morning, which is about 5 degrees below average. Winds will generally gust about 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Saturday begins with about 1-2″ of snow on the ground across most of Central Oregon with higher accumulations for higher elevations. Overall we can expect mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies throughout the day once the snow showers are done. Temperatures will only reach the low to mid 30s, which is about 15 to 20 degrees below average.

In the afternoons we will see some modest melting of the snow on the roads and other surfaces. We’ll then see a freeze pattern overnight. Prime pot hole weather… so keep your eyes out for bumps in the road!

Sunday continues to be dry, but we’ll see a little more sunshine. Daytime highs will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Skies will gradually clear overnight into Sunday. Temperatures will fall into the teens for overnight lows.

Heading into the beginning of next week we’ll see daytime highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. We’ll see a freeze/thaw pattern for the week ahead with daytime highs being warmer then what we’ve been seeing.

Another chance for snow showers kicks up overnight into Tuesday with mixed showers on the way. We’ll see breezy conditions Tuesday, too.

Have a happy & safe weekend!
