Good evening Central Oregon,
Sunday morning through Monday night…upper level low pressure over northeastern Oregon has triggered snow showers this afternoon that have continued into the evening.
A few inches of accumulation could be possible, but overall coverage should be small.
Sunday’s highs will range from 29 in Bend to 34 in La Pine.
Overnight lows will be in the teens all across the region.
By Monday night, a cold front will be approaching from the northwest and snow showers, possibly mixed with rain in some areas moving toward the region by Tuesday morning.
Light accumulations are possible.
Tu​​​​esday through Saturday…a cold front will move across the area.
This could be the last winter weather event for the lower elevations for the season, even though snow accumulations will be less than 2 inches.
Some of the snow showers may fall as snow pellets Tuesday afternoon.
Winds will increase to around 15-25 mph with higher gusts in some areas, and afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 30s to mid 40s.
Scattered mountain snow showers Wednesday morning will taper off to isolated showers in the afternoon.
Winds will also diminish Wednesday.
High pressure building behind the front will bring dry conditions the remainder of the forecast period.
Temperatures will begin climbing closer to seasonal average and afternoon temperatures will be in the 40s by the end of the week.
