Garage fire damages SW Redmond home
A garage fire damaged a home in southwest Redmond Sunday evening but caused no injuries, officials said.
Redmond Fire and Rescue crews responded around 5:40 p.m. to the reported ire in the garage of a two-story home in the 2200 block of Southwest 30th Court, Fire Marshal Traci Cooper said.
Two adults who live at the home were away when the fire began and found smoke coming from the garage when they returned, Cooper said. Their adult son tried to put out the blaze, without success, then called 911.
Arriving firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the open garage door. They put out the fire and completed salvage and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Cooper said.
Firefighters were assisted by the Bend, Crooked River Ranch and Cloverdale fire departments, and Redmond police. The family declined Red Cross disaster relief assistance, Cooper said.
