Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
We’re just starting our new weather pattern. We’ll see calm winds overnight with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will dip into the teens and lower 20s, which is a little below average. Friday morning will be off to a cold, frosty, mostly sunny start.
Our region will see more sunshine than what we’ve been seeing, which means a lot of the snow and ice will melt at a faster rate. Small streams could rise slightly with the runoff, storm drains could be filled quickly, and you could see some ponding on the roads over the next several days. Through the overnights watch for slick and/or icy spots as we will see the runoff refreeze.
Friday will see mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 50s, which is around average. Winds will be calm out of the southeast.
High pressure stays over the region through the weekend and beginning of next week. Temperatures will run around average in the low to mid 50s. Mostly sunny skies are likely through Monday.
Don’t forget your sunscreen 😉
