The Giving Plate food bank gets new cargo van

KTVZ

The Giving Plate Community Food Relief announced Tuesday it has a much-needed new cargo van.

” We are excited to announce that after a year of grant writing, The Giving Plate now has a 2017 cargo van sold below cost from Robberson Ford, ” founders Gary and Debra Kelso and fellow executive team member Ranae Staley said. ” Much gratitude to Robberson and those who made this possible. ”

The largest donor toward the van was Fred Meyer, as well as funding from the Greater Bend Rotary Club (Great Duck Race proceeds), Brooks Resources Corporation, Newcomers of Bend and Deschutes County.

” We have needed to replace a much older cargo van for some time, ” the announcement said. ” This new cargo van has twice the space and much more efficient for our ever-growing food programs. They include The Giving Plate Pantry, Kids Korner and Backpacks for Bend. ”
