Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM
Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!
The chance for showers will taper off this evening into the midnight hour. Winds will still gust around 15 miles per hour. We see mostly cloudy skies with chilly temperatures apart from the chance for light rain showers.
Overnight we’ll see rain showers push back into Central Oregon, so we’ll be waking up to rainy roads and light rain. Low temperatures will dip into the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s, which will feel chilly!
Highs for Wednesday will be slightly warmer in the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. Our average daytime high is 67 degrees at the airport in Redmond. We’ll see chances for rain showers throughout the day and mostly cloudy skies. Winds will gust around 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Snow levels remain fairly high — above 7,000′ — through the end of the day Thursday. Levels will fall Thursday evening into Friday and that’s when we could see more snow than rain mixed in up at the summit. If you are heading skiing or snowboarding make sure your skis are waxed as the snow will likely become sticky.
Showers will be light until we get to the evening on Thursday, then it looks like most of Central Oregon will see rain again. Highs remain in the mid 60s Thursday, but cool down for Friday.
The end of the week we’ll see some morning showers and cooler temperatures. Overnight lows will fall back into the 30s so make sure anything you’ve planted outside is covered.
Looking ahead to the weekend we’ll see a chance for showers Saturday night into Sunday. The Pole Pedal Paddle at this point looks drizzly, but not soaking. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s on Saturday. Sunday looks wet and cooler with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
