EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Police say two motorcycle officers from Yakima, Washington, were injured when they crashed their motorcycles in Eugene.

KVAL-TV reports the officers crossed a bridge Friday afternoon before colliding and crashing into some grass.

Eugene police say they were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The extent of their injuries wasn’t known, but a police spokesperson said the officers are expected to survive.

Police are investigating the possibility that one or both officers swerved to avoid something, causing the collision.

Police declined to release the names of the officers.

Officials say the officers are in Eugene for the North American Motor Officers Association training conference.
