Salem police looking for woman, young son

Salem police are asking the public for help finding a missing Salem woman and her young son, not seen or heard from for about a week.

Police said they were contacted Friday by family members of Karissa Alyn Fretwell, 25, to file a missing persons report. They told police they had not heard from Fretwell or her 3-year-old son, William (Billy) Fretwell, since last Monday, May 13.

Karissa is a white female, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs about 135 pounds. She has blue eyes and naturally blond hair that she dyes red. Billy is a white male, about 3 feet tall, and weighs about 30 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Salem Police Tips Hotline at (503) 588-8477 and leave a message for Detective Jake Burke. If you know where Karissa and Billy are, you’re asked to call the Salem Police Department non-emergency number at (503) 588-6123.
