Local Alert Weather, Fri. AM, 5-24-19
Good Friday Morning, Everyone…
Chilly air carried southward out of the Gulf of Alaska will keep us cool and breezy today. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will be accompanied by westerly winds that pick up to 10 -20 mph , with gusts to 25 -30 mph . Skies will stay partly cloudy tonight. Overnight lows will be in the mid 30’s ; something pretty average for this time of year. Winds will turn SW at 10 -15 mph .
While Saturday is looking mostly sunny and cool, as well, the winds will settle down. Also, a storm system will be quickly building in the panhandle of Alaska and it will begin a rapid trek southward along the Canadian coastline. That will bring more rain to the Pacific NW and a chance of scattered showers to Central Oregon from Saturday night through Monday, Memorial Day. During this time a warming trend will take us back into the low 70’s by Tuesday when skies will start to clear. Mostly sunny conditions with highs in the mid 70’s will take us into Thursday when we will see another slight chance of some isolated showers.
