McKenzie Pass Highway set to reopen

The Old McKenzie Highway (OR 242) will be open to motor vehicle traffic by 8 a.m. Monday, the Oregon Department of Transportation said Friday.

The twisting, seasonal route over McKenzie Pass west of Sisters has been closed between milepoints 61 and 84 since late last year due to winter weather and highway maintenance operations, the agency said.

Snow removal began in March, followed by repair work to fix damage caused by the 2017 Milli Fire.
