Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

The chance for isolated thunderstorms sticks around through sunset. Once we lose our heat we’ll see a chance for isolated rain showers. Under partly cloudy skies low temperatures will dip into the low to mid 40s, which is slightly above average. Winds will be out of the northwest around 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Wednesday begins with a chance for rain showers already, and we’ll see that chance turn into a good chance for thunderstorms around noon. A FIRE WEATHER WATCH goes into effect in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. We could see some abundant lightning and gusty winds. We will see some heavy downpours and/or hail within these storms.

Highs for Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 60s, which is below average by more than 10 degrees. Our average daytime high is 80 degrees. Wednesday looks to be one of the stormiest and coolest day for the extended forecast.

Thursday sees highs in the mid 60s with a chance for thunderstorms, but not as a good of a chance as we’ll see for Wednesday. Expect partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with a chance for showers in the afternoon as well.

Friday is looking mainly dry at this point, but we could see a few showers east of the Cascades. We’ll warm back into the lower 70s. Through the weekend we’ll see more sunshine and a gradual warm up. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s by the end of the weekend.
