Trailer with Milepost 97 firefighter gear stolen

A cargo trailer filled with firefighting gear was stolen Friday night while parked at the camp for the Milepost 97 Fire burning in southern Oregon, officials said.

“Apparently someone needed our cargo trailer and the firefighting equipment inside it more than we did and helped themselves to it last night,” the Douglas Forest Protective Association said in a posting Saturday to its Facebook page, including a photo of the trailer and close-up of the Haulmark’s model and vehicle ID number.

Anyone who sees the trailer is urged to contact Oregon State Police.
