Local Alert Weather, Tue. AM, 9-24-19

KTVZ

-Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone…

We sit at the leading edge of a nearly motionless high pressure center and that will bring us a very pleasant day today. We will see much sunshine with highs that reach the mid 70’s . Do watch for a breezy afternoon, however, as NW winds pick up to 10 -20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph . Skies will be mostly clear tonight. NW winds become light this evening. Lows will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s tonight.

That high pressure center will show little movement over the next couple of days, so we can expect Wednesday to be just as nice as today. Thursday will reveal the first hints of change. We will see a few clouds move in and highs will only be around 70. This will mark the beginning of a cooling trend that will have us pretty chilly going into and through the weekend ahead. By Saturday we will be under mostly cloudy skies and we will see a chance of scattered showers. Overnight lows will be down close to or a little below freezing. The freezing (snow) level in the cascades will be dropping by 8,00 to 10,000 feet over the next five days. That means that Mt. Bachelor will see a chance of snow as early late Thursday and snow is likely on the mountain right through the weekend. Overnight lows on the High Desert will be at or below freezing Saturday and Sunday nights. That slight chance of showers will turn to a slight chance of snow showers, especially at the upper elevations.
