Recorded 911 calls underscore the real time terror of the deadly Las Vegas university shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Fire alarms blared in the background of recorded 911 calls that police released of terrified students and faculty this week at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The callers hid inside locked offices and under desks while shots were fired outside. Three professors were killed and a fourth was wounded.  The gunman had more than 150 rounds of ammunition and a list of targets when he opened fire at the university’s business school on Wednesday. He was killed in a shootout with police. The university’s president said Friday that students and faculty don’t have to return to campus this semester.
