Semi rollover crash north of Madras blocks, closes Highway 26 for six hours

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) – A semi-truck rollover crash blocked U.S. Highway 26 north of Madras for about six hours Thursday, after ODOT advised motorists to expect extended delays or use an alternate route.
Law enforcement and medics responded to the scene of the crash, reported around 9:20 a.m. near milepost 113, about three miles north of Madras.
There were no reports regarding any injuries, but the two trailers reportedly were fully loaded, leading to the lengthy cleanup and removal effort.
ODOT reported the highway had been cleared and reopened before 3:30 p.m.
State Police on Friday confirmed there were no injuries reported in the crash and that the driver was heading east on the highway when he "allowed the right-side tires to go into the dirt shoulder." As he tried to return to the roadway, troopers said. the second trailer rolled onto its right side, pulling the first trailer and tractor onto their sides as well.
