SCHOOL CLOSURE/ DELAY INFO & Slippery roads, cool temperatures and mostly dry conditions today

UPDATE: Sisters and Jefferson School Districts are closed for the day Culver and Redmond School Districts on 2hr Delay.

Happy Friday Central Oregon.  Melted snow from yesterday turned to ice overnight is likely underneath the new snow that fell last night into this morning and you can expect icy and dangerous area roadways.  Your morning commute could be precarious so please exercise caution.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in Central Oregon until 7am due to another possible inch of snow creating slippery road conditions. Also, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 7am due to 1-2 inches of possible snow along the east slopes of the Cascades including Sunriver and La Pine. Plan on hazardous road conditions.

Today brings chilly temperatures, so not much melting will occur.  Conditions will be mostly dry outside of the slight chance for some light snow this morning and again in the early evening.  The next bit of weather could be arriving as early as late tonight into tomorrow brought on by the approach of another Central Pacific low pressure system.

North winds in the 5-10 mph range will become east by later this morning but generally won’t be too noticeable today.

Highs will be a bit cooler than yesterday in the low to middle 30s and overnight lows in the 20s across the High Desert.
