Snow Report: Friday February 23

A dry and mild day on the mountains as high pressure dominates the Pacific Northwest weather landscape. The dry and mild weather for the weekend with highs above freezing and plenty of sunshine on Saturday and early Sunday. A spring-like feel to the pattern for the weekend, then winter returns Monday.

The pattern changes dramatically on Monday with significant snow and gusty winds. The snow will be falling before sunrise Monday and linger through the day. A Winter Storm Watch is in place for Monday and more than likely will be upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning as we get closer to the event. Snowfall amounts are being estimated in the 16 - 20" range above 4000 ft. so plenty of new snow is expected.

The snow will be persistent most of next week, so we are going to add to our base each day starting Monday and lingering into at least Friday.
