A Winter Storm Watch will begin on Sunday with snow in the forecast
Saturday is going to be dry and mild with highs in the low 60s. Sunday will also be mild, with highs in the 50s, but we will see an increase in cloud cover, as the day moves along. The clouds will signal the transition from the mild pattern to a colder and snowy one.
An area of low pressure will push through southern Canada and drag a cold front over the region Sunday night. This cold front will be the catalyst for the next round of snow. The snow will be robust in the mountains, and translate to a few inches in our lower elevated locations.
Currently A Winter Storm Watch is in place for western portions of Deschutes and Jefferson counties beginning late Sunday and lingering into Monday, this will likely be upgraded to a winter storm warning.
