Wisconsin Supreme Court rejects Democrats’ congressional redistricting challenge

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has rejected a Democratic lawsuit seeking to throw out the battleground state’s congressional maps. The court on Friday said it would not hear the case that was filed in January by a group of Democratic voters. Republicans had argued against the court hearing the challenge. The court in December ordered new legislative maps, and the Republican-controlled Legislature passed ones drawn by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers. He signed those into law on Feb. 19 and urged the court to take up the congressional map challenge. Six of Wisconsin’s eight congressional seats are held by Republicans.
