Winter Weather Advisory until early Tuesday

Happy Monday everyone!

Last night, a Winter Weather Advisory was issued for the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades, including the cities of La Pine and Sunriver. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches expected, except 8 to 16 inches mainly above 5000 feet.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact Santiam Pass on Highway 20.

Another Winter Weather Advisory will take effect at 4pm for the cities of Bend, Madras, Prineville, and Redmond. These areas can expect around 1 to 4 inches of snow. Both advisories will expire at 4am Tuesday.

A cold upper level trough remains over the forecast area this morning resulting in snowfall for Central Oregon and Southern Oregon. Expect scattered snow showers throughout the region.

High temperatures will be in the 30s to 40s today.

We are seeing a shift in the weather pattern bringing a decrease in precipitation and warmer temperatures later this week.
