Arizona officer dies after driver crashes into patrol car with sirens on, police chief says

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say an Arizona officer died after a driver crashed into a patrol car that had its siren on and lights flashing. Police officials say 31-year-old Officer Adam Buckner was rushed to a hospital and died from his injuries after the crash Sunday night at an intersection not far from the University of Arizona. Tucson’s police chief says Buckner’s marked patrol car was going through a green light with emergency lights and siren activated when a vehicle failed to yield. Police say the driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries and did not show signs of impairment. No citations have been issued to the driver pending an investigation.
