Czech President Petr Pavel injured lightly while driving his motorcycle, his office says
PRAGUE (AP) — Czech President Petr Pavel has been injured while driving his motorcycle and is in hospital for observation. The Czech presidential office says Pavel was at Prague’s military hospital for a brief observation following the accident on Thursday. He is not undergoing any treatment. The office did not immediately give more details, saying they will be released later. Pavel, a retired army general, has been known for using a motorcycle, a favorite pastime he didn’t give up after he was elected president last year. The Czech presidency is a largely ceremonial post.
