La Pine area’s fire-related power outage knocks NPG of Oregon’s Finley Butte transmitter, 3 channels off the air

KTVZ

La PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Residents of southern Deschutes County (the La Pine area and southward) are advised of a wildfire-related power outage and its impact on NPG of Oregon's transmitter site at Finley Butte.

The transmitter has temporarily gone dark due to Midstate Electric Co-Operative shutting off power to that location because of its proximity to the Darlene 3 Fire.

We encourage viewers to either watch our NewsChannel 21 livestream coverage (here is a link: https://ktvz.com/livestream-3/). Depending on your location and your antenna type, La Pine viewers may also be able to pick up over-the-air channels 24, 32 and 36, which are broadcast from our Spring River Butte transmitter site.

Once the fire evacuation notice is lifted for the Finley Butte area, NPG of Oregon's engineers will be onsite to restore channels 23, 28 & 30. If you have any questions, we encourage you to email engineering@ktvz.com.
