Cloudy and warm today, more sunshine Sunday

The area will be warm today, but there should be a mix of clouds and sunshine. There will be more sunshine in the morning and more clouds in the afternoon. There may be a few light, spotty showers in the late afternoon, but for the most part, the tri-counties should stay dry.

Highs today will be in the low 80s even with the cloud cover so if you are planning any outdoor activities, make sure to stay hydrated. Winds will be from the north northwest so any smoke from smoldering hot spots in the Darlene 3 Fire region will be pushed south and east.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and warm along with high temperatures in the low 80s. More of the same on Monday. Not much change in the overall pattern as we start the month of July. Mostly sunny through the week and highs will be in the 80s. Wednesday will see the mercury in the thermometer rise into the upper 80s Wednesday followed by highs in the 90s on Independence Day.

The heat will be back with us both Thursday and Friday, so remember to stay hydrated and be mindful of the potential for fire danger this week. Fuel on the ground is dry and it will not take much to get another wildfire going.

Stay Safe.
