 BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Honor Flight of Central Oregon is gearing up for its final meeting in preparation for the upcoming Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C., from Sept. 18-21. The meeting will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the VFW in Redmond, located at 491 SW Veterans Way in Redmond.

This essential gathering will bring together the 26 veterans (one WWII, 2 Korean War, 23 Vietnam War) and 26 guardians who will be participating in this unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, important details about the trip will be covered, ensuring that all participants are fully prepared for the experience ahead. Veterans will also have their headshot photos taken for the commemorative photo book, and trip bags will be distributed. To kick off the evening, pizza will be provided to all attendees.

HFCO would also like to extend a warm invitation to the community to join us in welcoming home our veterans at the Welcome Home Celebration on Saturday, September 21, at 2 p.m. at Ridgeview High School, 4555 SW Elkhorn Ave, Redmond. This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to honor and show our appreciation for the service and sacrifices of these brave individuals.
