More mountain snow this week means an early open for Mt. Bachelor
Highs today will be in the 40s and 50s and lows tonight generally in the 30s. It will be another breezy afternoon with wind gusts 20-25mph.
Today, we will remain mostly dry during the day with most of the precipitation falling over the mountains as snow. Rain is expected to return around dinner time throughout Central Oregon, continuing into the overnight hours and all through Wednesday. Wednesday will be our wettest day. Rain will turn to a wintry mix overnight for areas like La Pine and Sunriver with flurries possible as you’re waking up each day. Any snow accumulation in the lower elevations will be little to none.
Snow in the mountains is a different story! With Mt. Bachelor already having received nearly 4ft of snow and more in the forecast this week, it will open early this weekend for pass holders! By Friday, new snowfall for the week could be close to another two feet.
A Winter Weather Advisory for the Cascades expires late this morning but could be extended due to the winter pattern continuing into mid-week. Please refer to the banner at the top of the website for any and all updates. Be careful driving, dangerous travel conditions are expected.
Rain becomes spotty Thursday and then we remain dry until Sunday where some late-day rain and snow will fall again.
Happy Tuesday! Have a great day.
