SE Bend home results in $75K in damage, no injuries reported
Bend, ORE. (KTVZ) -- If you were on Bend's south side yesterday, you might have noticed the smell of smoke.
A house fire broke out on 27th Street in Southeast Bend late in the afternoon. Fortunately, the home was unoccupied at the time.
A nearby neighbor reported the fire and checked for anyone inside before Bend Fire & Rescue crews arrived. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze to a single room. However, the damage is estimated at $75,000.
They determined the fire was caused by combustible materials placed too close to a wood heating appliance. The heat ignited the materials, spreading flames to nearby items.
No injuries were reported.
