Freezing fog remains but some clearing is expected with the rain on Saturday

The Freezing Fog Advisory has been extended until 11am this morning. Be careful on the roads again. Visibility will be very limited in areas and you could run into a few icy spots on the roads this morning. Plan for 5-10 extra minutes on your morning commute to take it slowly.

A stubborn ridge of high pressure is to blame for the long, foggy pattern. A low pressure and a cold front will approach over the course of the next day or so, which will break down the high pressure and provide us with some clearing. With this incoming pattern, however, we will trade the fog for increasing cloud cover today and rain tomorrow.

Rain will move in with the cold front early Saturday afternoon. I’m expecting the rain to start falling around the tail end of the Bend Christmas Parade, so if you’re planning on going, pack some rain gear to stay dry and wear some layers to stay warm.

Sunday will remain mostly dry but the possibility that a few flurries fall early in the morning is not entirely out the question.

KTVZ NewsChannel 21 will be attending the parade–hope to see you there! Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
