Mild and dry pattern returns, wintry mix possible Friday
The region is finally getting some sunshine as the low level clouds have cleared the area. The past few days have been dreary and misty at times but today we begin a long stretch of dry days…sort of. Friday will be wet as a quick moving round of rain and mountain snow pushes through, but after that we dry out for several days.
Apart from Friday we are looking at quiet weather with light winds and mostly sunny skies.
Thursday will see a few clouds, but generally a sunny and mild day with highs in the upper 40s. There will be clouds moving in as the day moves along as we prepare for a round of mountain snow and high desert mix of rain and snow Friday.
The timing is still being sorted out by the models but there will be snow on falling on the Cascades and rain and snow over Central Oregon. The mix should begin over the High Desert around sunrise and end by sunset. The heavy rain and snow will be early in the day, followed by spotty and scattered showers as the afternoon moves on. Behind the mix will be much cooler temperatures.
Highs are forecast to be in the upper 40s Friday, but that may be a bit aggressive since the snow and rain will arrive before maximum heating. So, the temps Friday afternoon should be in the 30s.
Saturday and Sunday will be dry and chilly as the mercury will only hit the upper 30s to low 40s under partly cloudy skies. Next week looks dry with a gradual warm up to the middle 40s by the middle of the week.
Please stay safe.
