Junior Forecaster Flint: An RC pilot and writer helps with the weather

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ -- Flint is a third-grade student at High Lakes Elementary School in Bend and has a special interest in weather, as he is a pilot.

Flint enjoys flying remote-controlled planes and is part of a local club here in Central Oregon.

Keeping a watchful eye on the weather is paramount to a great day of flying. If there is too much wind, there is too much trouble, so low-wind days with plenty of mild air are ideal.

Flint also enjoys his writing classes at school because he gets to be as creative as possible.
