Lingering rain today before Central Oregon dries out for the remainder of the work week

Plan for a few stray showers this afternoon as the upper level low progressively travels east throughout the day. As the system moves east, so will the thunderstorm chances. Eastern Oregon will see a few isolated storms develop later this afternoon, but the Tri-County area should stay clear of storms today, receiving some light, lingering rain instead.

By Wednesday, drier weather takes over. Skies will progressively clear through the day to partly cloudy. Temperatures will start to rise, jumping back into the low 60s. Temperatures will continue to rise into the mid and upper 60s Thursday and Friday. The second half of the week will be much quieter, with the exception of breezy winds.

Rain is expected to return Saturday with the approach of our next system. This system will also bring thunderstorms chances. I will continue to track this as we head into the weekend, in case you need to plan around the weather.

Have a happy Tuesday.
